Doug Krecklow needs our help!

My name is Sara Juster and my kids, Caroline, Sam, and Ari, all swam for Swim Omaha and Omaha Westside High School. For many years, I volunteered on the Omaha Westside Swim Club board and worked as a timer, stroke and turn official, and starter for both Westside and MW swim meets.

That's how I got to know Doug Krecklow and his love and dedication for our kids. I knew he had a wife and kids of his own, but I knew the Doug Krecklow who gave absolutely everything he had to hundreds, if not thousands, of young swimmers over the years. At the pool from early in the morning till late at night every day for decades, Doug was an incredibly successful coach, friend and mentor to so many.

Well, now Doug needs OUR help. For years, Doug's wife Leslie has required significant care. A little over a year ago, Leslie was diagnosed with PSP and Parkinsonism with silent seizures, and because of her disabilities, no care facility would accept Leslie because she needed 24/7 attention.

Doug brought Leslie home and paid for the care she needed out of pocket. Doug exhausted his school retirement and savings funds and became indebted to the home care company to the tune of $112k. They filed suit, and now Doug is threatened with not only Leslie's debilitating condition, but the loss of their home.

A few weeks ago, Doug reached out to me for advice, and I suggested that there were probably many people who would jump at the opportunity to help him after all he has done for others. I'm hoping that you won't let Doug down and will dig deep to help Doug and his family. Please help Doug and Leslie out by donating whatever you can.
