This is our friend Doug Kraft. Doug is currently fighting an aggressive form of high grade urothelial (bladder) cancer. Initially diagnosed with prostate cancer almost two years ago, he underwent surgery and chemotherapy treatment for this disease. Unfortunately, it wasn’t long before his doctors discovered he had additional tumors growing inside his abdominal cavity and was later diagnosed with stage 4 urothelial cancer. His extended time away from work along with growing medical bills have put a great financial strain on his family and he needs our help.
A transplant from upstate New York, Doug grew up in Mahopac. A Navy veteran, Doug was an Electronics Technician while on active duty and has spent his career working to modernize the U. S. Pacific Fleet in San Diego, CA. After leaving the navy, he continued to support the Fleet, working as a contractor. He was hired by the government 10 years ago and currently works at Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR).
A beloved husband, father, brother, friend and co-worker, Doug has many interests. A talented musician and vocalist, Doug spent several years playing local gigs with a band, “Rockslide”. He also enjoys building & personalizing guitars!
