Jeremiah 30:17 – For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the lord.
Barbara and Doug Hlavaty married 20 years ago on June 14, 2003. They birthed 3 beautiful children Paisley 13, Camille 11, and Hoss 10.
Doug worked at Coca Cola in El Campo 20 years before making a move to Ozarka/Aqua Beverage for which he stayed 3 years before he had to quit. Barbara has been with El Campo ISD for 23 years working in Special Education. Barbara and Doug were highly involved and dedicated members to the church. When Doug was still able, they both were Eucharistic Ministers at St Andrews Catholic Church and taught CCD for over 20 years. They were both active members and co-chairmen at the Church picnics. In addition to this, they were active in ACTS retreats and on the ACTS teams as well as worked the Catholic Engaged Encounters several weekends out of the year for about 7 years.
When their youngest son Hoss was only 6 months old in December of 2014, Doug noticed something was not right. Doug was diagnosed with ALS, a rare neurodegenerative disease. Just recently, he was hospitalized from April through May this year (2023). This hospitalization stay required him to under-go a procedure in which they inserted a tracheostomy. Since coming home he is now dependent on oxygen and requires around the clock care. As you can image, this exudes a lot of worry and added stress on the family as well as a financial burden.
Due to Doug’s debilitating disease and care, any donations to help pay caregivers and help support the family in their time of need is greatly appreciated.
