My name is Saraya and I am fundraising for Doug Gray (my stepfather). I am raising money to help my family cover the costs of his aftercare, celebration of life services, and other expenses accrued from his passing.

While Doug was on his typical daily bike ride he experienced an unexpected cardiac event which resulted in him being rushed to the ER. Unfortunately despite extraordinary life-saving measures, Doug went a considerable amount of time without oxygen. Due to his poor prognosis for any quality of life moving forward, secondary to the extent of his brain injury, our family lovingly made the decision to honor his medical wishes and he passed on January 24th, 2023.

Anybody who knows Doug knows three main things: he loved God, he loved his family deeply, and loved to ride his bike. Biking was truly his passion in life and there was rarely a day that went by that Doug was not going out for a ride. He was always a man that was focused on his overall health, so this passing was such a surprise and was devastating to our family. Our family does have peace knowing that the last thing he did before his passing was doing the very thing he loved and that he is now in heaven with his Lord and Savior.

We are trying to help raise money for his wife (my mother) to help cover some of the upcoming expenses associated with his aftercare, celebration of life services, and other costs. To further add difficulty to this situation Doug was laid off the Friday before the event happened so we are unsure about his life insurance status. Due to my mom being off of work during this time, she is not bringing in any income either. With this said, any support with expenses would be such a relief to my mother during this time as she processes this tragic loss.
