OUR GOAL: TO HELP DOUG'S WIFE WITH MEDICAL AND FUNERAL EXPENSES. A PORTION OF THE DONATIONS WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO SEASON'S OF LIFE HOSPICE IN WOODRUFF FOR THE PASSIONATE CARE GIVEN TO DOUG IN HIS FINAL DAYS.
Doug was a husband of 48 years. He loved his three children, five grandchildren and one new great-grandchild. He lived all his life in Lake Tomahawk, WI and loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, nature photographer and was a simple man who enjoyed the beautiful Northwoods.
All who knew him, knew he loved to make others laugh, no matter how difficult his struggles were or the amount of pain he was in. Doug had a true gift from God by bringing joy to others (as you can see in the silly pictures).
Doug drove for Lakeland Area Bus over 15 yrs. and loved being with the kids. He was also a trained weather spotter and volunteered his time to WAOW TV9 and the National Weather Service of Green Bay for 30+ yrs.
Doug suffered many years with kidney disease. He started dialysis with only 12% kidney function and endured over 6 yrs. of treatment. In Nov. 2023 he developed a blood and skin infection. The infections led to toe amputations and left extremely painful wounds on his legs which would never heal. Kidney disease, diabetes and infections led to heart failure. After surgery and two months in the hospital he became too weak. Doug passed Feb. 23, 2024.
This has put his wife, Sandy, in a difficult financial spot with medical bills and funeral costs. They never wanted to ask for financial help but at this point it is needed, as his wife is disabled and not able to work full-time.
