We are close friends of the Doug Butcher family. Doug unfortunately passed away from COVID in January. He had a huge positive impact on many people. Doug's life was filled with many medical issues, including a kidney transplant 27 years ago, leaving him with one functioning kidney. In July 2015, Doug was diagnosed with Amyloidosis, later that year in December 2015 he attempted Stem cell treatment, ultimately it was unsuccessful. At the same time Doug had Type 2 Diabetes caused by medication he was taking over 27 years. He was getting Chemo treatments weekly for the first year, after he would get these treatments monthly for the next four years.
Doug was very generous in his time, he helped the younger generation who drifted in a bad way to find a path in the right direction in the skate industry, through his company Industrial Ride Shop. Also employing these youths in his shops. Doug always gave more than he took.
Doug unfortunately was unable to qualify for Life Insurance due to his terminal medical condition. This is why we are starting this Go Fund Me page. Doug is survived by His Wife Gaye, Daughters Madison and Skyler and Dougie his son.
The goal is to raise enough money to pay off the mortgage and debt for the Butcher family. It is time to give to someone who always gave.
