Doug & Brenda's Medical Expenses
Donation protected

We would like to introduce you to a couple of our friends, Doug and Brenda Martin. They are the couple everyone wants to be. They fit so perfectly and know each other so well. You see the love so real and open between them.
We have been blessed to have Doug and Brenda as dear friends for many years, birthday parties, ball games, concerts - you get the point.
Recently, Doug was diagnosed with lung cancer. This makes us ask why? He is a great upstanding guy, supports his son and daughter with love and devotion. He dotes on his three beautiful grandchildren. Doug and Brenda are very proud loving grandparents. You will not find a stronger bond than what Doug and Brenda have with each other and their family.
When the doctor gave Doug and Brenda the news, they also informed them he would have nine months. They chose to start chemo right away hoping this would work and he would beat this. They have been optimistic and strong through all of this. This is a very traumatic experience that no one should have to go through.
It sounded like things were going well and Doug was on his way to mending, when suddenly it all changed. The chemo treatment took too much from Doug and he was in and out of the hospital until they decided hospice would be best. Hospice was coming to the house, but cancer drains you of energy and strength. It is not a fair disease. It does not always show signs until it has settled itself in your system, leaving little options or time. It was getting too hard to get up and Doug felt this was too hard on Brenda. He went to hospice hoping to get regulated and build strength to go home.
Without the chemo treatments it seems the cancer has grown rapidly, much more than expected. The doctors told them the time they have left is about a month.
We know and love Doug, and see him as the great loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend he is.
This being said, we are putting a donation page to help support them with this traumatic experience. I know we all donate to functions or big charities, but not really knowing who it is helping. We are asking for your support to help give to this amazing couple. The insurance only covers so much, which is not much. Brenda will be left with a substantial debt to deal with on top of everything else. We would like to help lighten some of the load so to speak. If you can, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers.
