Doug & Jessica Rhodes Recovery Fund

Doug and Jessica have been hit with a near tragedy, and are battling their way back from it now.  Several days ago, Doug was up in Maine, working on his brother’s home, when he fell off a ladder seriously injuring himself.  He was air-lifted to a local hospital, and has been in a chemically induced coma ever since.  At one point he unconsciously vomited into his own lungs causing aspiration pneumonia.  The doctors were able to save his lungs by vacuuming them out, but he has not been able to breathe on his own ever since.  Currently he is stable, but not out of the woods. 
 
Jessica and the family have been by Doug’s side in Maine ever since the accident, staying in hotels, and occasionally driving back to Rhode Island to try to work a few hours… this, of course, is more important than ever given the upcoming bills and hours of missed work they expect to deal with, when Doug hopefully fully recovers. 

Doug and Jess are not the kind of people to ask for a handout, in fact they are the kind of  people who lend a hand themselves.  Doug’s the guy who helps people move, or helps them with a side job, or helps load a truck,  or gives folks  a ride. Jessica is the kind of person who arranges a meat raffle fundraiser  for her aunt after she lost everything in a fire.  They are good people, with a nice little family, including an almost 2 year old little boy, who are about to be hit with a boatload of bills right when they suddenly lost half their income.  Doug is still fighting for his life, finances shouldn’t be what he has to worry about when he wakes up.

That is why we wanted to start this GoFundMe me for them.  We would like to help them out, the same way they are always willing to help out others.  Any little bit will help, so please give what you can, and please say a prayer for the Rhodes Family.
