Double marathon row for Dad
With the recent passing of my dad who unfortunately lost his battle with cancer back in September last year I’ve decided to take on a task to raise as much money as possible for Wrexham Nightingale House.
After being diagnosed back in February last year, it came as a huge shock to our family to hear the news that our time we had left with him was limited. He continued to fight it as best he could but unfortunately the cancer was already too far gone by the time they found it. He decided to take on Chemo to hopefully buy him a little more time, just enough so he could get to meet his first Grandson who was born in May.
Unfortunately soon after this his condition got much worse and he was in and out of hospital until the end. He was sent over to the Nightingale House and remained there for his final few days.
After seeing the amazing care my dad received from all the staff there, and the support that was offered to myself and my family throughout it all I feel it’s only right to attempt to give something back to the hospice. It’s an amazing facility that gives the best care to people who are in need of it in there final stages of life.
So onto THE CHALLENGE..... On the 8th and 9th May I will be attempting to row 2 marathons in 2 days. I’ll be hoping to live stream it so people can watch and even join in with me. I already have a few friends who are keen to get involved so let me know if on any of those days you’ll be getting any miles in & jus knowing this will be a great boost during my rows.
Nightingale House Hospice is a registered charity and therefore relies solely on fundraised money & donations to ensure they can continue their incredible work. Please donate whatever you can to help me reach my target. My dad had such a love for the outdoors and getting the miles in with running & all sorts of fitness. I want to do him proud both with the marathons & raising money to give back to the people who made his final days peaceful, dignified and surrounded by his family. Thankyou!
