My name is Abigail Hamner and I am an avid animal lover and rescuer. I’m also a college student at LSU.

Why I'm fundraising

On Friday 12/15, I was on a road trip with my friend Olivia and we saw a stray puppy in the road. We pulled over to try to get it, and it ran into the road after being spooked by something in the woods. We watched the puppy get hit by a pickup truck going 80mph on the highway. We immediately got him in my car and took him to the closest emergency vet. The x-ray at the vet showed that he had 2 broken femurs and would need intensive orthopedic surgery as soon as possible.

The impact of your support

We’ve been quoted different prices for the surgery by various vets, but we estimate that the surgery and recovery costs will be over $3000. Any donated funds will go directly towards the surgery and recovery of this puppy.

I will hopefully be getting a better estimate on Monday 12/18 for the surgery and will be posting updates!
