THE CONCEPT:

Dos Días is the debut short film by DIRECTOR ROB G, the film paints a haunting portrait of moral collapse fueled by desperation. As Carlos spirals, he uncovers that the people exploiting him were also being hunted themselves. When the truth of the scam comes to light—after Carlos has already committed murder—his world unravels in one final act of violence. It’s a brutal meditation on how survival in a broken system comes at an unbearable cost. It also has a surprising twist at the end that will SHOCK audiences across the world—one that has already drawn comparisons to the final gut punch of The Departed.

THE STORY:
Dos Días is a gripping, slow-burning thriller set in the underbelly of Chicago’s immigrant labor scene. Carlos, a weary bar security guard trying to secure a work visa for his pregnant girlfriend in Mexico, finds himself trapped between false promises and brutal truths. After his pleas are brushed aside by his manipulative boss and the pressure of deportation inches closer, Carlos learns of an underground fixer known as “Dos Días” who claims he can produce documents in two days—for a price. At first, this route seems like hope. But as ICE raids, betrayal, and systemic exploitation mount, the line between victim and perpetrator starts to vanish.

CHICAGO CHICANO INFLUENCES:

The Mexican roots will pulse through Dos Días like a heartbeat, grounding every frame in cultural authenticity and lived-in reality. The neighborhoods of Logan Square, Pilsen, and Little Village serve not just as backdrops but as active characters, filled with vibrant contradictions: murals of saints beside ICE checkpoints, tamale carts on corners where unmarked vans linger, and homes where corridos echo down alleys late into the night. From the music choices to the food, language, architecture, and even street slang, the film immerses itself in the textures of Latino life in Chicago, refusing to sanitize or stereotype it.

FUNDING OVERVIEW:
To bring Dos Días to life at the level of cinematic precision and emotional intensity it demands, we’ve structured our funding into three critical tiers, each designed to ensure the film reaches its full creative and professional potential. Our story is bold, our vision is clear, and now we’re building the infrastructure to match it.

TIER 1 - $1500-2200 (THE FOUNDATION)
This first tier secures the essential production tools. Funds will cover:
  • Camera and lens packages from local rental houses
  • Lighting and grip equipment for our stylized Neo-Noir aesthetic
  • Location permits for our street and bar shoots in Chicago
  • Basic location insurance to protect our cast, crew, and gear

TIER 2 - $3500-4200 (BUILDING THE TEAM)
At this level, we elevate the quality of our production with industry-grade talent and crew, allowing us to:
  • Hire a sound recordist and boom operator to capture crystal-clear dialogue and environmental sound
  • Bring on a gaffer to help shape the atmospheric lighting essential to our visual storytelling
  • Pay our principal cast at the SAG low budget minimum—because we want the best, and we respect their craft
  • Provide basic meals and transportation stipends for our hardworking team

TIER 3 - $7000-7700 (REACHING THE WORLD)
  • Submit Dos Días to Academy Award-qualifying festivals such as Sundance, Tribeca, SXSW, Cannes, Shorts México, and more
  • Cover festival submission fees, packaging, subtitling, and outreach costs
  • Travel (as needed) to represent the film at festivals and network with other filmmakers, producers, and distributors
  • Post-Production polish (theatrical sound mix, orchestral scoring, music composer fees)
