Help Us Keep Futsal Alive in Dorset – And Take It Even Further
Hi, I’m Michael Wootten, and I run Dorset Futsal – a local club with big ambitions and an even bigger heart.
Over the past few years, we’ve been on a mission: to bring futsal – this fast, exciting, beautiful game – to every corner of Dorset. What started as a small dream has become something really special. We’re now one of the biggest futsal clubs in the country. Our men’s team has just been promoted to the second-highest tier in the UK. Our women’s section is thriving. Our youth teams are growing. And we’re reaching more schools and communities than ever before.
But now we’re at a crossroads.
Some of the sponsors who’ve supported us so generously over the years have had to step back. We’re incredibly grateful to them — they helped keep us going when it really mattered. But as we head into what could be our biggest year yet, we’re facing a tough reality: without new support, we might have to scale back.
That’s why we’re turning to our community — to people like you, who believe in sport, in grassroots growth, and in giving people of all ages and backgrounds the chance to be part of something special.
What We’re Raising Money For:
Running our men’s and women’s teams in the National Futsal Series isn’t cheap. Costs are rising — from hall hire to league and referee fees — and we’re looking at around £10,000 per team this season.
So our goal is to raise £20,000 to help cover those essential costs.
But this isn’t just about keeping the lights on.
If we hit our initial target of £4,000 (£2,000 for each team), we’ll create a vital buffer to keep our performance teams running. Anything above that will go straight into growing futsal across Dorset: buying new equipment, funding more sessions, reaching more kids and adults, and supporting our incredible team of coaches who are doing this for the love of the game.
Why It Matters:
For the last 30 months, I’ve poured everything I have into this – not for profit, but because I believe in it. I’ve never taken a wage. Every penny we bring in goes straight back into the club: into our players, our coaches, our kids, our community.
We’re building something truly unique here – a futsal-specific organisation that’s giving people opportunities they wouldn’t otherwise have. And we’re doing it the right way: not by packing sessions to the limit, but by making every session count. Focused coaching. Proper development. Real care for the people involved.
I’m so proud of what we’ve built – with the help of brilliant volunteers, passionate players, and a community that keeps showing up.
No, we’re not perfect. But we’re real. And we’re not done yet.
If you can spare anything – whether it’s £5, £50, or just a share of this page – it’ll go a long way. You won’t just be supporting a club. You’ll be helping us keep a dream alive, and making sure futsal keeps growing right here in Dorset.
Thank you so much.
