Dorothy, lovingly known to us all as Dot, was, without question, the heart and soul of our community. The very mention of her name would bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart. Everyone knew Dot—not just because she was present at every gathering, but because she made every gathering feel like home.
Dot lived her life with purpose, grace, and compassion. Her mission, as she often said, was to "do the good Lord’s work"—and that she did, wholeheartedly. Whether she was feeding the homeless and the hungry, supporting local charities, or caring for the foxes she held so dear, Dot gave of herself completely, without ever asking for anything in return. Her acts of kindness rippled far beyond our streets, leaving a lasting impact wherever she went.
She was a woman like no other—a true matriarch whose spirit lit up every room she entered. Her laughter, her wisdom, and her endless generosity were gifts to us all. Dot wasn't just someone we loved; she was someone we depended on. Her absence leaves a space no one else can fill.
We will miss her deeply—each and every one of us—but especially those who had the privilege of knowing her best. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering community spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
To honor her memory, we hope to raise funds for a plaque in her name—so that future generations will know the story of our Dot, and never forget the woman who gave so much to so many.
ANY FUNDS REMAINING WILL BE DONATED TO MACMILLAN CANCER AS REQUESTED BY DOT'S SON.
Rest in peace, dear Dot. You were a blessing, and your memory will forever be cherished.
"Please note, this is the only official page authorized to raise money for our beloved Dot, and to purchase a plaque in her memory and name, NO other chairty or organisation have been given authorisation by Dot's family to raise funds.
For this as all expenditures for Dot's funeral and service have been covered."
