No one knows how fragile life can be until something terrible happens to you. In Walla Walla, WA, August 20th, 2022, was a typical day for Dmytro Doroshenko. His family was participating in a church event near a river park. One of the activities was riding the jet skis. There wasn’t a single person there who could have predicted this water accident would happen. People were riding their jet skis, having fun, and crashed head-on with one another out of nowhere.

Dmytro took most of the hurt on himself to protect his children. He was thrown off the jetski unconscious into the water, and thankfully he was wearing his life vest, which saved his life. The other people participating in the event immediately jumped in to pull him out. He and two of his kids were urgently taken to the hospital. He was taken for emergency surgery for splenectomy, collapsed lung, five broken ribs and scapula at the hospital. After seven days in the hospital ICU, he was finally stabilized and got some hope for recovery.

Dmytro’s older daughter, Diana, has severe PTSD, panic attacks, and nightmares after being in the accident with her dad and seeing his lifeless body floating in the water. The middle child, Oleh, suffered a broken rib and anxiety.

He’s a wonderful husband to Tanya Doroshenko and a father of 8 with a newborn baby. He works very hard in the US to support his family as a constructor and the sole provider of his home. Due to the accident, he will be out of work for several months without income. He is left with the burden of not being able to provide for his family or the ability to pay for his medical and other bills.
