My grandmother, Doris (Moran) Blanchard, of Brockton, Massachusetts, passed away early this morning at 89 years old. Her entire life was devoted to taking care of others. From her family and siblings, to her career at the VA Hospital for our country's veterans, to raising her own seven children, and even raising some of her grandchildren, she was truly the backbone of support within our family and the glue that kept us strongly held together. Her loss will be felt for the rest of our days on earth.

During her life, Doris had the unfortunate burden of having to bury five of her seven children, something no parent should have to do, never mind five times.

Through the good and bad times, Gramma Doris never lost sight of her purpose on earth; she never faltered. Her strength was inspiring, her dedication was admirable, and her soul is resilient.
