For those who know Dorina, are familiar with her kind, generous, and uplifting spirit. Dorina is the type of person who takes joy in helping those around her and is always a friend you can count on. Below is Dorina's story, and we hope you please contribute to her cause.

       Dorina first discovered she had a herniated disc in her lower back, which was leaving her with numbness and pain.  She was advised by doctors to under go a simple surgery to repair the slipped disc and elevate the pain.  However, two weeks after the procedure, doctors discovered the surgery wasn't successful. Dorina was forced to go back into surgery, this time to fuse two of her vertebras, in order to prevent any further slipping of her disc. The burdens of having two surgeries and difficulty walking, led to long amounts of time laying down. Even though physicians said this was completely fine,  it ultimately led to further complications. Dorina began to feel intense pain in her legs and she was rushed to the emergency room.  Doctors had discovered that the blood in her legs had began to clot. They needed to place filters to block the blood clots from travelling to her heart, brain, and lungs. Without this emergency surgery, Dorina's situation could have become fatal. 

     Finally, Dorina is beginning to heal, however, she is still several months away from living a normal life. Currently, Dorina relies completely on others to tend to her daily needs and to look over her well being. She is limited in movement and still has a long process ahead. Her story began in the beginning of May 2015 and she has been left unable to work since. Dorina's current situation has left her with costly medical expenses and other financial burdens.  We ask those who are able to contribute to Dorina's cause, please take a moment to make a difference.
