Dorian wants to volunteer with Honduras Child Alliance, pursue higher education, and stay in El Porvenir. Let's help him do it!

Honduras Child Alliance welcomes volunteers from all over the world but some of our best come from close to home! Dorian Padilla is a young man from El Cacao, Honduras who has some big dreams for himself and for the kids we work with. We want to help him reach them!

Dorian was sponsored to volunteer with Honduras Child Alliance (HCA) for 7 weeks and in that time he has made a positive impact on the program, the kids, and the volunteers. Now that that sponsorship is over, Dorian would like to continue volunteering with HCA as well as persue higher education but needs financial assistence for both. Well, Dorian can explain it better...

"Hello my name is Dorian Padilla I am 19 years old, two months ago I started volunteering with an organisation called Honduras Child Alliance (HCA). I was a teacher and I was teaching three different classes; morning, afternoon and night. In the morning I was teaching English, art, science, and literacy to kids in one location and in the afternoon in another location, and taught adult class at night.

This experience has been amazing and I love it, because when I taught I felt happy and I felt the affection of the students.

To volunteer with Honduras Child Alliance I had a sponcer who was able to give me financial assitance
for 2 months and I am so grateful to them for this. Now the 2 month sponsorship is over and I would like stay volunteering but I won't be able to and one reason is because I don't have money to pay for food. I would like study more English to have a diploma and maybe translate while I am volunteering and if I can translate I can find a good job that will help me earn money to help my parents. If I am volunteering I can teach the kids and adults more english in the class. When I start the university I would like to volunteer in my free time when I don't have class. I would like to add that I want study and volunteer to learn different things, and get the opportunity to give my family a better life then I had. Thanks!"

Honduras Child Alliance loves having Dorian as a volunteer and we wholeheartedly support his drive for higher education. We can offer him free lodging while he is in his program however he needs assistance with the cost of tuition, food, and miscellaneous expenses.

Here is the break down of the costs:

Tuition for a year: $1,000
Cost of food for the year: $1,200
Extra expenses (books, transportation, etc): $300
Total expenses for the year: $2,500

Dorian is an incredible young man and we are so exciting to be working with him and to watch the amazing things he will do with this opprotunity.
