My name is Karen Rait and I live in Florida. I am starting this page to help close friends on Green Turtle Cay, who have lost all their possessions and homes in the path of hurricane Dorian. This is one of the small outlying islands of the Abaco, which may not get support as quickly as the main island. These friends are hardworking, family-loving, caregiving people that you can't help but fall in love with. Sammy is loved throughout his community and cares for his elderly mother. Watching the young children run up to Sammy as he's walking down the street would bring a smile to anyone's face. DJ is a young father who works so hard you wonder where he gets the energy. Now he will be putting much of that energy toward his newborn son, which was born days before Dorian took everything from them. At this time they are living with others in whatever shelters remain standing. Sammy and DJ would do anything for their families but at this time all of their opportunities to work are now gone. We consider them family and this is the time where families step in to help each other until they can help themselves again.  Any donations will go directly to DJ, Sammy and their families.
