Dori Tillett Medical Expenses

This picture is of my sister Dori and her son taken on July 22 on our family vacation. On August 4th , my sister was found unconscious within her home by our mother. In efforts to save her life, she underwent a serious emergency operation immediately at the hospital that included removing part of her skull to stop the bleeding and reduce the swelling. She was given VERY low odds of survival. We are not quite sure, even as of now, of what exactly happened but are thankful for the swift hands of the medical professionals who saved her life. The doctors suspect she either had a brain aneurysm or "spontaneous bleeding of the brain"... however, they can really only speculate. What we DO know is that Dori is a fighter and her progress so far reassures us she's going to get through this despite the LONG road ahead!

Dori is currently in a coma and in ICU. The doctors have her cared for by powerful machines, doing various tests, often checking her vitals, but truly do not know when she will wake up. At this point, they believe she may be hospitalized for several months. Once she does wake, she will have quite a road to recovery ahead of her through rehabilitation and healing. Doctors are not overly sure of what potential long term side effects will come of this situation. We are hopeful and praying for her every step of the way. Dori is a 35 year old single mom of a bright and beautiful 5 year old little boy. She recently became a homeowner and was living a life she was extremely proud of. This is quite the setback as this mama will miss her son's first day at kindergarten, her 36th birthday, countless other special moments and will have many bills awaiting her when she wakes.

If you are able, we humbly would appreciate any support to help offset her mounting medical expenses and day-to-day household costs (mortgage, utilities) until she is back on her feet. Our goal is to make sure Dori can focus solely on getting better to be there for her little boy - with as little other burdens as humanly possible.

Finally - As you can imagine, this is quite an overwhelming time for my family - including the added frustration that she is not allowed to have any visitors at this time except for our Mother. I know it's human nature to want to reach out, ask questions, get updates or send well wishes. Please know we will post updates here as we have them, which can be days apart at times. I kindly request that you avoid reaching out to our Mom and Dad. At this time, they need to focus their attention on Dori and can not be overwhelmed by messages or inquiries.
