My mother, Dori, has been in and out of the hospital an abundance of time throughout the last 3-5 years.
In 2020, she spent 9 months in total there for a diabetic infection that was eating her body from the inside out. Multiple days in ICU, many surgeries, and an extensive amount of follow up appointments resulted in over $100,000 of medical debt.
She is now in the hospital again in Bismarck for a UTI, sepsis, kidney stone, ovarian cyst, and parkinson's dementia.
The current plan is for her to have surgery in 4-6 weeks to have the kidney stone removed. After this she will need to be transferred to a swing bed in another facility. Depending on the effects of Parkinson's Dementia, she may need to be placed in a nursing home.
I created this fundraiser to try to alleviate part of the financial strain it has put on my parents.
