It has finally come to that time, when what’s best for our baby isn’t what we want, but saying goodbye is the best thing for them.
On Tuesday, Dora suddenly lost the ability to use her back legs.
She is 20, and despite otherwise great health, the reality is this is not a treatable condition to be able to ensure any quality of life for her. This will help us say goodbye where she can be comfortable and doesn’t have to suffer.
Unfortunately, having just had one cat end up needing substantial emergency care this past month, the money we would have had for this has already gone. I spoke with the Farley Foundation who have unfortunately exceeded their budget for 2025, and this isn’t able to wait until the new year.
We don’t expect to raise the full amount, but anything right now helps since we are both low-income.
