Hi everyone! This here is my mom. She is a wife, mother, nana and great-nani. She has raised 4 kids, helped watch many of her grandbabies and worked full time with the Alum Rock School District, where she selflessly served others for over 25+ years. Her heart served because she loves to make people smile. She worked at several different schools throughout the district as a child nutritionist and supervisor. Many many children were touched by her loving spirit and "mama"/"nana" ways of working to make sure all kids were fed and provided for. She also touched many adult workers throughout her time as a supervisor. She was a hands on leader and never complained, just helped get the job done. June of 2018 she was FINALLY able to retire and give to herself. Well, that lived short. In March of 2019 she started having really bad pains in her side. She dealt with it for weeks (with a smile) and felt she could get through the pain and not burden anyone with it (her thoughts not ours). In April she was rushed to the hospital by her husband with severe pain. After several tests in the ER, she was admitted into the hospital with kidney failure and a blood infection. She remained in the hospital for 2 weeks while doctors and specialists met daily to figure out the best way to tackle this time sensitive issue. Her kidney was at 4% working with a large stone lodged into the tube leading to her bladder. The urine and toxins that backed up into the kidney caused the blood infection, E-Coli, to attack her blood and immune system. Finally after much back and forth between the specialists, they agreed on a procedure to drain the fluid out of her kidney which would allow healing and hopefully revive the working condition enough to spare it. They hesitated because it was a life or death procedure due to the kidney's failure percentage. By God's grace she survived the procedure and is currently in "stage 1" of a long kidney process. Her kidney has drained enough for them to test the function and revival percentage. While at the hospital she was hit with a huge blow from her insurance company. They would only cover $3,000 and my mom would have to cover the rest. Her hospital stay, which included several tests, medicines and doctor/specialist visits, racked up a bill of $30,000+! She has been out of the hospital about 3 weeks now and the kidney specialist has scheduled a test to provide the necessary information needed to come up with the next stage of action, kidney revival or removal. Unfortunately, she was just told by the hospital that her insurance does not cover this particular test and she would have to pay $6,000 out of her own pocket! We are praying that by using this Go Fund Me page, we could help raise the necessary funds needed to help my mom pay off the medical bills and provide the necessary tests to heal her. We believe that what you sow you will reap. She has sowed many seeds of love, compassion, money, food...the list goes on, and that God will provide above and beyond what she needs so she can get healed and start enjoying her retired life. Would you please help? Any amount is a great amount. No amount is too little or too large. We appreciate you all for stopping in to read this and hope you can share with your friends and family as well.
