Our beloved nanny Dora needs help

As most of you know, Dora Chacon has been an incredible nanny to so many families over the years, and specifically, to our family for the past 8 years. In fact, Dora’s been a critical fixture in our home ever since our first child Samantha was only 3 months old and continues to be the glue that binds our family together to this day. Both Steven and I consider Dora not just a part of our family, but an integral person involved with raising both Samantha and Jack. We think of Dora as our own fairy god mother, always willing to provide a helping hand, no matter the set of circumstances. Dora’s an extraordinary women, who has been with our family through the best of times and the worst of times, always willing to help in times of need, whenever our children are sick, sad or just looking for someone to help guide them in life.
And now, at this time in her life, Dora needs our help!
Tragically, last Tuesday, July 24th, Dora’s son Luis was shot and killed in a random act of violence. And to make this nightmare even worse, Dora had just celebrated her son Luis’s 35th birthday the previous Sunday. Our beloved Dora’s son was taken away from her too soon and in the most gruesome possible way. Even more tragically, the police have yet to find the killer and have no leads to date. All the while Dora mourns her son and has become overwhelmingly burdened by the exorbitant costs of providing a proper funeral.
Our wish and goal is to ensure Dora can afford a proper funeral for her son. In this time of need, we want Dora to spend more time mourning the loss of her son and less time worrying about the exorbitant costs of paying for a funeral, which will put her in debt and exacerbate her current circumstance. At this time, we respectfully request that you contribute to the costs of Dora’s son Luis funeral. Any donation will go a very long way towards helping Dora heal after such a tragic loss in her life and hopefully allow her to find peace again.
To make matters even worse, Luis was shot and killed in Dora's car. We're also hoping that any additional funds raised beyond what is needed for the funeral can be used towards any costs involved in selling her current car and exchanging it for a different car. We're hoping that Dora will not have to be reminded every day of this terrible tragedy and is able to exchange her car for a new car as soon as possible.
We've decided to contribute $4k to Dora directly outside of gofundme and are hoping we can raise at least another $8k. Any amount you can contribute to Dora’s son Luis’ funeral and car replacement is greatly appreciated by Dora and her entire family including us. We know that money can be tight, so please know that even $5 helps us get closer to our goal.
