Introduction/Goals:
Hey all, my name is Jared, and I am looking to make back a lot of what I have spent and gain funds on what I eventually will be spending on this shoot. This is my final project for my "Advanced Film Production" class but it is also a massive passion project that I have been mapping out for years before signing up. To be completely transparent, we have already began production on Goro but I have already spent as much as $800 alone on materials for costumes and bookings for stunt rehearsals for this project and that will grow as I continue shooting over the four shoot days me and my team scheduled. Overall the majority of funds will go into making back what I will spend on food for my cast and crew, high-quality and unique hero and monster costumes, insurance for the very expensive gear in use for this film, and a cover for any and all fees for the local film contests that I intend to circulate this short to.

If you have any interest in those classic Japanese live-action superheroes from Power Rangers, Ultraman, or Kamen Rider, this may be a project worth your time.

Logline:
Goro, a masked defender, is deployed to combat a mutated disgruntled ex-factory worker attacking his old place of work.

Project History:
I initially made Doomchaser Goro as a pitch for a parody of 70s superhero characters for my college's magazine . I took a lot of design from both the likes of Neo Human Casshern and Chargeman Ken as those were characters I was heavily thinking of at the time I was designing them.

When my pitch got rejected, I ended up reusing the character for an animatic in another class where I was tasked to make an animatic for a short film. The initial tone that I made the character of had some sort of darker and satirical nature to it but something that was still a little shallow being a short focused on characters that I'd initially wanted to explore once.

I ended up using the character once more after a friend of mine told me that he wanted to make a superhero short film for fun after I showed him a couple episodes of Kamen Rider OOO. We ended up making the first Doomchaser Goro Short Film . It was a lot lighter in tone but around the length of your typical TV episode at about 21 minutes. I am personally really proud of what me and my friend was able to make from it. With this current iteration, the darker tone is something I want to come back to.

Tone/Inspirations:
I'd want to match something like Shin Kamen Rider with the villains being something taken from the pages of Tetsuo the Iron Man. The script will not only celebrate Tokusatsu but will also put my character in a much more dire situation than what he experienced when he first started his journey all the way back in 2023.
