Donut’s Scary Movie Night Halloween Special
Donut's Scary Movie Night is a nightly live horror movie show created and hosted by Chicago drag queen Donut. DSMN premiered during the pandemic lockdown of March 2020 as a gentle support group for anyone interested and since it's creation there have been over 600 episodes! Every night at 10pm CST horror fans from around the world gather to talk all things spooky while enjoying frightening horror favorites. Donut's Scary Movie Night begins Season 6 in summer of 2022 and currently we are planning the biggest show that DonutVideo has ever made!
On October 30th 2020, DonutVideo premiered The very first DSMN Halloween Special, an hour long variety show celebrating all things Halloween. The viewers (lovingly dubbed The Sprinkles) commented during the stream in realtime as they enjoyed original music videos, iconic horror movie moments and raucous stand up comedy from host Donut. The first ever DSMN Halloween Special was a hit and replayed on Halloween night before a brand new episode of the beloved regular series. The second DonutVideo Halloween Special premiered October 22, 2021 to rave reviews! It was entirely crowdfunded by our loyal viewers from all over the globe! On it’s limited digital run audiences from Hawaii to New Zealand tuned in and turned up. This fabulous moment led to DSMN’s very first live show at Thornton Distilling in Illinois where patrons at Al Capone’s legendary hideout were treated to a live viewing party hosted by Donut in the flesh.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any bigger…
Pre-production on the 3rd annual DonutVideo Halloween Special began almost immediately after production wrapped on the last one. Plans are already in motion with the project set to begin filming late this summer. The exact release date is TBA but will premiere October 2022.
Due to the closed set, details on the plot and featured segments are being kept top secret but let’s just say viewers can expect another outrageous Halloween SPECTACLE like none other; celebrating horror excellence with that signature campy DonutVideo flair. The third DonutVideo Halloween Special will be the channel's biggest event yet and your contribution can help this project reach great new heights.
Expenses include (but not limited to):
-multiple location setups
-set design
-prop construction
-audio production
-costuming and wardrobe
-post production editing and after effects
-the possibility of physical distribution
-outsourced promotional materials
-food and drinks for the cast and crew
