Hello Friends and Family.
It is with a heavy heart that I am reaching out to you all today. As many of you know, a most special women has been taken from us....
Etta Elmore Bookout was a Mother. A Grandmother. A sister and an Aunt. She was also My Friend and a Friend to so many in our community.
Etta blessed this world with her presence on May 2, 1967. Whether she was going to the river, working at her and her daughter Jeanette’s beloved movie store (The Best Video in Penn Valley) or taking care of her Family, she had a beautiful way of making all who were around her feel welcomed. Etta loved all animals! She had several pets throughout her life, from a 22 year old Cockatiel named ‘Honey’, to her 13 year old cat named ‘Gemini’ also known as "Real Big Pig".... Whom she had created several theme songs for! Including... “You’re So Gorgeous” and “Pride and Joy”. Lolol
She also named the deer that would frequent their yard as well as the horses and donkeys they would see along the ride to school, so Brian has told me.
The Bookout family are no strangers to loss. As you know they lost their father tragically in 2008. Regardless of their hardships, Etta always had an uncanny way of making miracles to keep them smiling.
The process that this amazing family has been dealing with is the hardest thing they have ever had to do in their entire lives. It has been an arduous struggle everyday but I am reaching out to you, our friends and family, in hopes that you can help me make some of our own miracles in true form to the memory of Etta, so we can try to keep The Bookout’s smiling because that is what She would’ve wanted.
Thank You so much to everyone who has reached out already! For those of you that do not know we will be Celebrating the Life of Etta Elmore on..
August 10th, 2019
2:30pm
The Love Building in Condon Park, Grass Valley.
Her wishes were to be cremated. This is not a funeral, but a gathering for everyone to remember the amazing and beautiful person that she was.
Please bring a dish if possible! The family would like to do this as a “potluck” so that we can all put our own special love into the meal... as She would have most certainly done.
Love You All Dearly and Thank You So Very Much!
If roses grow in heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in our Mother’s arms
and tell her they’re from we.
Tell her that we love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy,
We do it every day,
but there’s an ache within our heart’s
that will never go away.
We Love you so much Etta and you will forever be in our hearts.
Thank You Again for taking the time to read a little bit about Etta and helping me to help The Bookout Family, who I adore and love.
Forever Your Friend,
Lyndsay Darley
