Donate to Help Aziel’s Fight

Hello everyone! My grandson Aziel, who is only three weeks old today, had to be taken to the hospital on March 1st and he’s still being hospitalized. My daughter noticed he wasn't able to eat, he was sleepier than usual, and he was becoming lethargic. Once he arrived at the hospital, he was hypothermic and his oxygen levels were extremely low. He had muscle weakness and wasn’t very reactive to anything. After multiple tests were run and a couple of days had passed, the doctors came to the conclusion he may have Botulism which is very rare. He was given the treatment for it on March 3rd but showed very little progress so the doctors went another route. They concluded he may have Myasthenia Gravis which is also very rare but after starting the treatment on March 5th and receiving it for five days, Aziel hadn’t progressed the way he should’ve. He was transported to Duke University Hospital yesterday, March 11th. So far, they say that it may in fact be Botulism but that it takes weeks even months to recover so Aziel has a long road to recovery. He will need physical therapy to regain his muscle control once his muscles gain strength again. As of right now, he is still on a ventilator but we’re all praying he’ll continue to get better so he can make full recovery no matter how long it takes. If you can, please consider donating towards Aziels fund. He has been a little fighter through it all so far and we’re so proud of him for continuing to be as strong as he has been. All donations will be going towards his medical expenses as they continue to add up through this long road ahead to his recovery. This was all very unexpected for my daughter and her husband. They were only able to enjoy their newborn at home for a little over a week before this happened so please keep the Lopez family in your thoughts and prayers. Any kind words or even advice for being in a situation such as theirs would be appreciated as well.
