Josaleigh Pollett Releases an Album

The 10 song album "Strangers" is something that has been in the works for a long, long time. I wrote the songs between 2012-2014 and released them without much production, but I always knew there was something more to them. When the duo behind Ogden's Lavender Vinyl approached me last year wanting to cover the cost of pressing my next record on vinyl for their shop, I knew that "Strangers" needed to be revisited. I knew that with the help of an incredibly supportive community and several amazingly talented friends, I could create something that would bring so many wonderful people together to enjoy something really special.
I headed to an empty airplane hanger in November with Genevieve Smith (Wing and Claw), Spencer Howe (What hasn't he been in??), Carson Wolfe (Vincent Draper), Jory Carroll, Harvey Day, Kat Day Romney (Goose Chase), Joe Kingston, Sydney Goodwill, and Casey Romney to record these ten songs in a completely new light. We'll finish recording mid-February and Lavender Vinyl has the vinyl-pressing all planned out!
However, the in between costs from laying down the last track to getting the vinyl into your hands are adding up a little faster than I expected. (Remember, I've never done this before!) These funds will help with mastering costs after the final mix is done, as well as paying the incredible artists that will be helping with making shirts, buttons, prints, stickers, and other goodies for your enjoyment at the album release party this summer!
All profits (after the band/artists have been paid) from this record will be donated to the charities that need it most this year, like the ACLU, the Native American Rights Fund, and the Rape Recovery Center of Utah. I'll make sure everyone that donates to this campaign knows where the profits end up, every step of the way.
ALSO - if you donate more than $10, I will send you a digital download of the album 1 week before the official release! (Dates TBA)
I am so grateful to the people involved in this project. It's not just mine, it's ours, and I want it to be something well-crafted that we are all proud of.
