Don't let the curtains close on Spontaneous!

Donation protected
So, not for the first time, we're asking for your help to keep this much loved organisation going, during some of the most difficult times for all - not least small businesses like us who rely on ticket sales.

As a not for profit theatre company, rooted firmly in the Sydenham community and beloved of those locally and beyond, we sincerely hope that once again our supporters can rally round and help us to keep going.

Staging any live theatre event is an expensive affair, and as we pay our creative team members something more than minimum wage, we can easily make large losses if ticket sales fall short, as sadly they have on our last few productions.

On top of the cost of living crisis, we have had some rather unseasonal wet weather of late too, and this has meant our last outdoor theatre show ROBIN HOOD - despite fabulous audience feedback - failed to get close to breaking even.

As we would love nothing more than to keep creating the magical, original shows our audience have come to expect of us, please do consider making a donation.

But as we know times are tough, if you are not able to help yourself then please consider sharing this page with anyone you think can help. We are particularly keen to attract new business sponsors, so if you own a business or know business owners who might like to sponsor us please email producer [email redacted].uk

Every contribution - however large or small - will help. So please don’t hesitate to get behind this great cause, and help keep the curtains open for Spontaneous

Plans for the next few months, if we can raise the funds we need, include...

THE LITTLE MERMAID - a new version of the Hans Christian Andersen classic, set in the Caribbean and featuring some very exciting special effects! (from 23 Sept, at the Sydenham Centre)

POSTCARDS 2 - a 'script in hand' scratch night, featuring playlets written by members of our ScriptHub writing class (date TBC)

An untitled HALLOWEEN event (end of October, date TBC)

PETER PAN - our Christmas panto will be an inventive new version of the Barrie play, staged in the beautiful setting of St Barts Church, Sydenham (Sat 2/Sun 3 & Sat 9/Sun 10 Dec, times TBC)
