A Family's Story from Gaza: Facing the Pain, Hope is All That Remains"
Amidst the endless destruction in Gaza, it is not only the scattered stones that tell the stories of loss, but the broken hearts and postponed dreams that speak of agony. This is the story of my family, living a chapter of unimaginable pain, suspended between the past that was and a future we can barely see.
Anas and Ali: Two Years of Educational Silence
Anas (15) and Ali (17) were preparing with great enthusiasm for their futures. Anas imagined himself as a university student, while Ali dreamed of completing his high school education. But two years ago, the doors of their schools were closed, not for a holiday, but because the sounds of bombing turned their dreams into dust. Two years of silence, two years of emptiness, where their papers and books became just a memory, and the teacher's voice was replaced by the sound of explosions. Anas and Ali did not just lose their school desks; they also lost years of their lives that were dedicated to building and growing.
Alaa: A Dream of Rubble
With great effort and patience, my brother Alaa (23) worked for years for his small dream. He built his own apartment, room by room, brick by brick, to be his sanctuary and his future. But in a single moment, that dream turned into rubble. His apartment, which was a symbol of resilience and hope, became nothing but scattered debris in the air, carrying with it all his memories and hard work. Today, Alaa is not only homeless, but he also carries the burden of losing years of strenuous labor.
My Father and Mother: Unending Suffering
My father, the pillar we have always leaned on, is now fighting a life-or-death battle against neck cancer. The disease is draining him, while we are helpless to provide him with the necessary treatment under these circumstances. As for my mother, who was always our source of strength, the harsh living conditions in the tent have turned her into an exhausted person. Sleeping in the cold, a lack of food, and constant fear, all of this is gnawing at her health and spirit.
This is not just a story about a family that lost everything; it is a plea for help. We are asking for assistance not only to rebuild what was destroyed, but to save the dreams of my brothers, provide treatment for my father, and give my mother a little comfort. Every donation, no matter how small, represents a glimmer of hope in this darkness.
Don't leave us alone. Don't let this chapter end this way.
