We had a unfortunate evening last night as Murphy had been acting fairly isolated distant and reluctant to move, he was also dry heaving. Although he was able to walk around and even wag his tail our emergency signs were not telling us that we needed to immediately go to the hospital. After a quiet night there was significantly worsening symptoms in the morning. We took him straight to the VCA hospital for surgery because he had flipped his stomach (not sure how he lasted the night).
Since he is our Sweet Prince we knew we had to spend the money to try to get him back to working order. And thankfully we were able to have a successful surgery despite the 12 hours he spent in agony before they were able to perform the surgery.
So all-in-all, Murphy now is recovering at the veterinary hospital. And will be there for 1 to 2 more days.
Our expensive Boy is worth the cost, but we are hoping due to the number of people he has met and played with and lives he has touched, that with love we can try to gather some donations to cover a little bit of the emergency surgery.
The total vet bills are quoted at $14,000. We had to pay a deposit of $5,000 in order for the vet to even look at him. We will have to pay the remainder on the day of pick up. We have insurance that we are hoping will cover $7,500 of the cost. But this has not been confirmed.
No pressure to donate, any little bit will help if you are willing.
Thanks for taking the time to read as we are very thankful that he was able to make it through. And for those willing to donate, you do not understand how appreciative we are.
