(Update) Don passed March 21, 2026 at 233 am
Hi, my name is Jeneen and I've been friends with Candace since grade 9 so naturally I've adopted Don as well. Candace reached out to me lastnight because everyone is asking how they can help! Candace herself has so much on her plate with Don's health and condition that I naturally stepped up.

In Candace's words:
On February 22,2026 Don started this terrifying journey with a trip to the emergency room at the pasqua hospital with what we thought was a gall bladder attack.
Don was admitted to hospital for more tests with a cancer diagnosis (in his liver and colon) we given a plan of action to hold him over for pain etc until we got our biopsy results and Allen Blair referral.
Our nightmare never ended for 3 weeks the pain was beyond our wildest dreams. Trips to the Er would get him prescriptions for stronger painkillers that never worked
On March 10th he was taken to Emergency by ambulance where he was diagnosed with C Dfficile caught from his previous admittance to the hospital.for days we tried to get his symptoms and pain under control. Everyday was a new set back and more uncontrollable pain.
On March 15th Don's belly got rock hard which we were told was constipation from the morphine. He was in uncontrollable excruciating pain every concern was ignored we kept getting told he just needs to poop. That night he went delirious almost childlike doing very odd things all night I was told it was the build up of morphine in his system while shiving another pill in his face.
Morning of March 16th (our 26th anniversary) Scottie and I were visiting while Don slept. He woke up and wanted to sit in a chair so I got him all set up. Suddenly he said he needed to use the bathroom I went to get the commode to help him i turned to put him on it and he went stiff as a board his eyes popped out of his head and he was unresponsive. I called a nurse and an unfamiliar nurse casually walked in asking questions while I screamed he wasn't responding. She didn't do anything so I yelled for a familiar nurse in the hall to help me. Janus ran to my aide he helped me get Don in the bed while Dr's and nurses flooded the room from everywhere. He was poked and proded to get ivs and blood draws for what seemed like eternity. While his blood pressure dropped to unreadable levels and his heartrate skyrocketed as high as 174. It was determined that his bowel ruptured and we were headed into a surgery to save his life. A surgery that was going to make him worse before he would ever get better.
The C difficile had turned into colitis of the large intestine and Mega Colon which fills your body with toxins and puss.
In that surgery they found his colon had ruptured so they removed the colon and the tumor cleaned up the toxins they could and put in a stoma for a colostomy bag. Coming out of surgery they were very worried he wasn't going to survive the first hour. We made it past 24 hours and hes stable and has a hell of a long fight to come back to us.

No one knows what the future holds but we all know that medical emergencies such as this come with expenses and costs. AND that is where we can help this beautiful family.

All donations are appreciated no matter how big or how small, whether its just a share!

Please keep Don, Candace and boys in your thoughts and prayers!

Thank you ♥️
