Donovan's Pop Warner Nationals

On November 4, 2017 Donovan and his team played their championship game against the Santa Clara Lions. This team is there rivalry. With taking the win 20-14, the boys couldn’t be more happy to have finally won the most important game of the season. Donovan moved to San Jose August 2016 with his dad Gary and I. Coming here with a very poor grade point average, and all F’s during the school year of the 6th grade. We knew it was going to be very challenging to getting him caught up. We had informed him that he will not be playing football for the first year here, due to his Academics. This was very sad for Donovan, as he had played football every year for 6 years! We had amazing help from Jenina Gary’s goddaughter for tutoring Donovan. And all three of us monitoring his grades constantly. He had A’s, B’s and C’s here and there throughout the seventh grade. Summer was soon approaching, Gary and I had asked Donovan if he prefers to go to Redding to spend the whole summer, or go to a higher academic summer school to get him ready for the 8th grade. Donovan decided to go to summer school. During the summer we were trying to find a team to sign Donovan up for, and we had came across the most amazing team with the most AMAZING couches, Almaden Mustangs! Though we were very excited about this new chapter with the Almaden Mustangs we have made it very clear to Donovan that he needs to keep up his grades in order to play football. Thanks to school loop we are able to constantly monitor his grades to make sure!! So far this year Donovan has had straight A’s and it B here in there. October 14, 2017 Donovan was awarded with an academic excellence award. Gary and I are ecstatic on how far Donovan has come! With all that Donovan has achieved we are going to make sure he is able to enjoy this huge accomplishment with his team in Florida, for the national championship for 10 day’s in beginning of December 2017. With this all being short notice, We are asking for your help to help us send Donovan to Orlando Florida. They will be live on ESPN and Disney World will be shut down for one day for Donovan and his team to enjoy! Along with all the other Pop Warner teams that made it to nationals. If we exceed our goal the remaining will be donated to the varsity mustang team!! As no player will be left behind due to expenses!Anything is appreciated!!!Thank you all
