Donovan's Fight Against Leukemia

Hi All - This is Jourdin and Brendon Szczepaniak, and we have created this GoFundMe in support of our cousin and best friend Donovan Bennett. As of this last week what began as a trip to the doctor for what he believed to be Pnemonia turned into an unthinkable diagnosis: Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).

Don is currently in the hospital undergoing chemotherapy and will remain there undergoing observation for a significant time. Don is a fighter and like all things he does in life he is facing this head on, which means he will be undergoing a very aggressive treatment. While there are still many unknowns about D's exact treatment, we do know for certain that he has a very long and hard fight ahead of him to beat this thing. This means a lot of time away from work and school.

Anyone that knows Don, his family, and his friends knows that we will do whatever we can to help him get through this so he does not have to worry about his unexpected medical costs as well as the daily life expenses that will not stop as this Leukemia fight goes on. We want D to be able to focus on kicking this things butt and not the dollar signs. So many people have been asking us how they can help / where they can donate, which is why we have created this page. Every little bit can help.

For those lucky enough to know Don you know just how awesome he is! A wonderful brother, uncle, son, cousin, nephew, and friend. He is an extremely hard worker who is passionate about a career in psychology. He strives to continue his masters degree and was working two jobs at the onset of his illness. The life of every party, Don constantly makes everyone laugh with his quick remarks and affinity for speedos. He is always ready for a game of soccer, volleyball, or cornhole and is a devoted sports fan (especially to the Fighting Irish).

While there will be many ways to help Don in his long journey ahead, financial support is something we can do right now. Thank you so much for caring about and supporting our family.
