Hi, my name is Valerie Wood. I'm raising money for a very dear friend, Lynn. Lynn and her husband were married for 18 years when he very suddenly and unexpectedly passed away Monday March 7th, 2016.
Lynn and Donovan have 2 beautiful teenage boys, 14 and 16. That’s how our families met, through the kids; I also have 2 teenagers, 14 and 16. Lynn and I, and our families, have been friends for the last 8 years and together have enjoyed watching the children grow into the respectable young adults they are today.
Her husband was the “local coach” and volunteered his time year after year, season after season, selflessly coaching both boys little league football and basketball teams. He was a true role model for the boys.
What many don't know is that he spent hours on the phone negotiating to ensure there was a spot on the team for every boy; he also made financial arrangements so nobody was left out regardless of skill or financial situation. Nobody was turned away from Coach Donovan’s team.
Donovan was charismatic, fun loving, vivacious and respectful, a great father and husband, and the life of the party.
Lynn is fun, generous, kind hearted, outgoing, spontaneous, responsible, big hearted and will be the “rock” for the boys going forward.
Unexpectedly, Lynn now has 2 car payments, a mortgage payment, living expenses, etc. to manage by herself, on one income, for herself and their 2 teenage boys.
I would like to "gift" her some sense of peace during this difficult time by raising $10,000 to cover funeral expenses.
