If you have met Donovan Pitts even one time, you will never forget him. He has a big, boisterous laugh and is full of joy and heart. This wonderful man served faithfully on the Dallas Police Department and SWAT team. Because of injuries that occurred in the line of duty, in 2 weeks he will undergo his 41st surgery in 13 years. Think about that for a minute. Through every single challenge, he continues to arrive at work, faithfully day after day. He continues to be in a servant position- and is a ray of light for both the students and staff at HSE High School.

Take the 3 minutes to watch his video. His wheelchair that he depends on for his daily existence, is malfunctioning for the 4th time in the last 2 years. He is not able to safely navigate in this chair right now- and can't be without one. Last time his chair was being repaired, it took 2.5 months to complete.

The funds we are gathering right now are for a scooter than can be used in the interim, while the details of fixing this highly specialized electric wheelchair are worked out. This will benefit Donovan both in the short and long term.
