My name is Jaden, most know me as Fish.

I was recently diagnosed with a degenerative corneal disorder called Keratoconus, initially we thought I only had it in my left eye. But after a recent corneal scan we found out it has spread to my right. My left eye has progressed to the point where I can’t read past 6in away from my face, and can’t make out any details past a few feet. My left eye can no longer be corrected by glasses or contact lenses. My right eye still has time, the condition has just started to form and I still have clear vision, but unfortunately that won’t last forever.

The recommended solution for this disorder is Corneal Crosslinking, dropping riboflavin into my eyes and exposing them to a UV light to strengthen the bond between my cornea and the surrounding proteins to keep the shape of my eye from steepening, saving my vision.

This operation costs up to $8000 and will have me away from work for at least 2 weeks, most likely longer. I’m living paycheck to paycheck, and being away from work for this long will put me on the streets.

I don’t want to take food off of anyones plate, but I am desperate. I need to see the sunset, I need to be able to look my partner in their eyes and tell them I love them, I need to be able to see and appreciate all of the beauty this world has to offer. I can’t imagine this world without it.

TLDR; I need an operation to save my eyesight. It’s expensive and will leave me unable to work while recovering.
