Donate in Memory of Donny Ray Stevens, Jr
Donation protected
My son, Donny Ray Stevens, Jr passed away July 25th due to an infection that had attacked his body for over a year. Last year, Donny got an infection on the bottom of his foot that was hard to get under control. He was in and out of the hospital throughout the year, trying to fight off the infection. It spread so much that his foot grew double in size and had emergency surgery on his foot and leg where they had removed bone and muscle, cutting both sides of his leg, that went up to his groin, to try to scrape out the infection that was spreading throughout his leg. The pathology reports said that he was fighting necrofasciitis and osteomyelitis. He underwent multiple surgeries in a short period of time, but unfortunately his kidneys were failing him.
I went out to Vegas and took care of as much as I could while I was out there, and he is currently on his way back to be buried with some of his family in Michigan.
A lot of friends and family of Donny's have asked how they could help. At this time, we are unsure of what his financial standings are along with his life insurance policy and will not know until we receive a death certificate which could take up to 3-4 weeks. In lieu of flowers we are asking for any donation that will help the cost of the funeral services and his burial. His body should arrive in Michigan the week of August 5th and we will finalize his funeral arrangements once he arrives.
Donny was loved by so many! He and I talked via FaceTime everyday, 3-4 times a day, even if it were for him to just say hi and that he loved me. I am still waiting for the phone calls from him but hearing how much he had impacted and made others feel loved, it has helped me through this tough time. Thank you for all of the messages, phone calls and prayers during the unexpected loss of my son. We have felt them and could not do it without the strength of your prayers, love, thoughts and support.
With love,
Ester and family
