Meet Donny Young. I did, in 2015 when my mom & I purchased Augie’s Quail Trail RV Park in Gila Bend. It was an underdeveloped RV Park when we bought it, but the vision I had, to create a beautiful boutique-style RV Park community, was all in my mind; I just needed to execute what would become (and still is becoming) the Sonoran Desert RV Park. Donny was the one that was able to work with my vision with the utmost respect, passion, and commitment. I’ve been told I can be difficult to work with in my creative stages, but I think that is just a rumor… or not, but Donny never let that bother him. We have gone through designing and building various one-of-a-kind projects and sometimes with many changes along the way, and sometimes starting over. Donny was always a trooper and came through with solutions. Come to find out, Donny and I graduated the same year from rival high schools in Scottsdale! Who knew? We have become instant friends. Donny is such a wonderful person, husband, dad, granddaddy, citizen, business owner, craftsman…. the list goes on. Donny has been available to me and my guests 24/7 in times of urgent need. It is now my turn to be available to him and reach out to those who know him who can help, and to my guests at the RV Park.
Donny had an accident a few years ago on his left foot, which eventually made him surrender to amputation this past June. His drive and desire to not let this affect his life has been nothing but admirable. Within a month, he was up and around on his crutches moving forward with not only his own life and his family's, but also for many others that depend on his skillset for our own businesses and livelihood. I would never ask, nor would he accept, any contributions for this situation.
However, the situation I am calling out on… his Cargo Trailer with all of his tools was stolen on Friday night. They recovered the trailer, but all of his tools that he, we (his clients), depend on, were stolen. Power & Battery tools, tool chest organizers, specialty items such as a laser level, etc… gone. Sure, he has insurance, and I am sure he will make a claim, but trying to report every little item he had and needs for his talents, is beyond overwhelming. I am asking for any amount of donation, $5, $10, $20, to help fund getting him a collection of tools so he can start over… on many levels. Please feel free to donate anonymously. Aside from his medical insurance co-pays, deductibles, amputee expenses, therapy sessions, mileage to/from, etc., now we have all his tools gone. Such a shame, and shame on the person that stole his personal possessions.
Thank you very much for your consideration and support. Scott Swanson.
