This GoFundMe is being set up for the friends and family who know our dad, Donny. Most of you are aware that he was admitted to the hospital in the Philippines on September 1st, due to Covid. He was put on a ventilator and treated with Remdesivir for five days. He slowly started to improve and was able to be moved to a regular Covid isolation room on 9/13, where he is currently. He still suffers from after-covid brain fog (https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/what-is-covid-19-brain-fog-and-how-can-you-clear-it-2021030822076) so he repeats himself and forgets a lot but he is making improvements, and most importantly, he is alive.

The doctors and nurses did an incredible job and helped save his life. We are grateful for them and the many prayers that went up on his behalf.

With that said, his hospital bill is close to $30,000. Because he is a foreigner in the Philippines, he must make a large down payment before they will release him from the hospital. I called the US Embassy to verify this and to see if they can assist us but they are unable to help mediate a civil matter. Over the last few days, I was able to negotiate with the billing department at the hospital and talked them down to a $10,000 down payment with a promise for him to make monthly payments until it is paid off. We're looking to raise half of that.
