DONNIE NEEDS SURGERY

Donnie Holsten has been working hard since he was 15 - digging ditches, pouring concrete, carrying sheet rock. He has spent his whole life making other people happy, doing heavy labor and wearing out his body. It's finally caught up with him, and he has done some major damage to his body and needed extensive surgery.
Update 6/7/18:
Donnie has had the surgery and it went well! He is at home recovering, with good people caring for him. He is going to be bed bound for about five days, and then it is going to be a slow two month recovery.
Through three successful yard sales, and a lot of generosity and human kindness, Donnie has gotten almost all of the money he needs. The surgery is paid for, but he still is going to be out of work for two entire months. Another $3,000 will see him safely through until the end. Knowing Donnie, if he doesn't have that money he's going to start working much too soon, and reinjure himself! (Those of you who know him absolutely know that is true!)
Donnie's spirits are starting to come back up. He is exhausted and in a lot of pain, but he is hopeful and knows that this is all going to work out in the end. All of the wonderful people he has met, the care of friends and family, and the stories he has heard have given him the strength to get through this.
We are not out of the woods yet. If you can contribute even a few dollars, it will help. Donnie has so many friends and loved ones, it won't take long for us all to come together and reach the goal. If on a normal day, you would buy Donnie lunch, or a birthday present, please give that much now, to help save his health and help him manage recovery for the next two months.
