Donna was diagnosed with ALS back in 2010. ALS is a progressive ,and to date, terminal disease that attacks the nervous system and causes your muscles to atrophy. Normally the progression is rapid after diagnosis and life expectancy is 2-3 years. In an answer to our prayers Donna has a much slower progressive form of ALS. This is a blessing for those of us who love her but will also mean that she will have a much greater financial need over a longer period of time.
Donna is the mother of 4 children, the youngest being born just prior to her diagnosis. She is the most positive and upbeat person you will ever meet. Never stopping to complain when most would. She is one of the only patients her doctors have ever seen go back to work after her diagnosis actually changing careers and going to work for the county department of health where she helps other people.
Donna has 6 siblings and we have created a Special needs Trust Fund in order to help put away money that will be used for any and all needs she will have related to her care. Any donations are gratefully accepted.
