Donna-Marie McMahon and Kenneth Cushen

Hi my name is Jennifer and I'm fundraising to help my amazing friend and her rock of a partner have their dream wedding and honeymoon. My friend Donna-Marie was diagnosed with stage 3C/4A poorly defined cervical cancer on the 8th of July 2020 and fitted with a left nephrostomy, she had 9 months of chemotherapy, chemoradiation and additional targeted radiation and was given the all clear on the 21st of April 2021. She was over the moon and decided to start training to become a paramedic after all the help she received in hospital. Unfortunately that dream would have to be put on hold as she began experiencing delayed radiation damage in February 2022 and was fitted with right nephrostomy. She was meant to go in for major surgery in April 2023 to have a full hysterectomy as well as the removal of her bladder, bowel and part of her colon but the surgery was unsuccessful and resulted in her being fitted with a colostomy bag. She has battled sepsis, ongoing infections and extended hospital stays throughout the last 5 years but has always stayed strong and positive through this journey and Kenneth has been at her side every step of the way. Unfortunately that is not the end of Donna-Marie's cancer journey as she has just been told it has come back in her rectum and vulva and any treatment now will be to extend her life and not cure the cancer. She is still waiting on biopsy results and a PET scan to see if it has spread anywhere else and how fast it's growing. The one thing that has really kept her going though out this journey is planning her wedding and having all her close friends and family around her to celebrated their big day and I would love to help her have that dream come true as she totally deserves to have the most amazing day after everything life has thrown at her. She is an inspiration to all who know her as to how she has handled everything that has gone on in her life. So please help a couple out who love each other deeply and want to get married to solidify that love.
