Hello family and friends of Donna, we (Dylan & Corey, Donna's sons, & family) are setting up this page because of recent events that have taken place in our mom's life.
On Monday October 26, 2015, mom was admitted into the Nelson hospital with an extremely low hemoglobin count and very high white blood cell count. She spent the next 2 weeks in the nelson hospital before she was transferred to Kelowna on Friday November 6th, where she stayed until she was discharged to Corey's house on Saturday November 14th. While at KGH she had a bone marrow biopsy. She stayed with Corey and Danielle for the week so she could be monitored and brought for a couple blood tests/transfusions. She came and spent Saturday night with Dylan, Candice and her 2 adoring granddaughters, and on Sunday November 22, Mom's great friend Trish brought her back to Nelson still with no definitive diagnosis. Finally on Tuesday Dec. 1st Mom had an appointment with Dr. Malpass and got some answers. Mom has been diagnosed with 'Aggressive' Splenic marginal zone Lymphoma. She, as we all are, is scared, confused and in shock. Dr. Malpass has recommended an aggressive form of chemo to fight it. Which after discussion with Corey and I, and some self-contemplation Mom will start this chemo treatment on Thursday Dec. 3rd. We ask for your prayers and positive thoughts for a successful treatment. We are asking you to give what you feel comfortable with. We will be using any money raised here to help with Moms bills and expenses through this tough and trying time. We love our mom and are so appreciative of anything you can help with.
