ALOHA DEAR ONES
I want to tell you about my very big, very wildest dream. It takes courage to share something so outrageously wonderful, but it would be such a blessing to so many for this dream to come true.
I should begin by telling you about our life because it is already so magnificent.
My husband, Joe, and I have spent our entire fifty years of marriage in service to Loving the world. When Joe returned from Vietnam, severely disabled due to exposure to Agent Orange, we felt that we must add more love in order to balance and repair the violence of the war.
We began by adopting (or taking permanent guardianship of) 17 incredible children - many of whom were fetal drug / brain injured ... while others had experienced extreme abuse such as being raped, burned, beaten and starved.
These stunning children required and taught us to love them far beyond normal expectations in order to help them heal. There was no hiding from their urgent hunger for Love. They taught us what humans truly need - not merely to survive but to thrive. What a blessing to have the opportunity to love so deeply,
After the children grew up and took flight, we still had more Love flowing through us. Therefore, we formed a nonprofit 501c3 committed to expressing Unconditional Love no matter what we had experienced in our childhoods. For the last 35 years, we have taught parenting as well as helping adults heal from childhood abuse so that we all learn to live lives of unlimited, unobstructed passion and purpose.
The motto of the Radiance Center is
LIVING TO LOVE AND LOVING TO LIVE.
We have taught through classes, community service, SOUL which is the School of Unconditional Love... and most of all, we continue to teach by becoming family - with one another, with the earth, and with the world.
During this time of Pandemic, our lives are intense and yet full of wonder. Not only did we lose our incomes because of being quarantined, but my husband is dealing with both cancer and the so-called final stages of kidney failure. And yet, we both feel that we still have so much more love to give and receive.
It is time to take this passionate love to the next stage. The world is finally ready. To do so, we need income, and we need a new home where we can express this passionate birthing of who humans can be. And even if you can't give money, your love might be even more effective by sending this request along to your mailing lists and social media.
I want to give you a piece of my puzzle. During the first Gulf War, I was so upset that I went running into my apple orchard, sobbing, "What can I do?" And the answer came back immediately, "You can be living proof that there is a different way to live." And now, we have an entire community of loved ones all over the world who are practicing living and teaching a different way to live.
In terms of money, every activity at the Radiance Center is given freely to all. We have no paid staff - including ourselves. Our Center is supported by the Seva (service) offered by students and visitors. And we gratefully accept donations. Neither of us work normal jobs.... We get up every morning and ask how we can be used by Love. And for fifty years, we have thrived on every level.
We live very simply, but now we are expanding our work to include permaculture so that we can encourage people to become more self sufficient. And after quarantine, we will bring people from all over the world to learn that they too can create a different way to live.
We have found an amazingly perfect Maui property to serve as the wildest dream retreat/teaching center. It includes a beautiful home and teaching space, stunning gourmet kitchen for large groups, acres of fruit trees and gardens, guest spaces, year round water... That is where the $2.5m comes in. And won't that be an incredible joy. But please know that we could also find a much less expensive property where we could build our own structures. We are already happy and therefore simply waiting to see how Love wants to support us and use us.
And so we ask you...

Know that any amount of money will be a huge blessing. We are going to be just fine... no matter what. We trust that money will always be provided because it always has... for income, for taking care of Joe, for a home, for new garden tools, for feeding a neighbor.

He reminds us that it is a true blessing when the exchange is so mutual that no one can tell who is the Giver and who is the Receiver. In other words, we are each blessed by being a blessing.
During those twenty-two years when we were raising the children, we had a sign on our front door that read.
PREPARE THYSELF TO BE PART OF A MIRACLE.
These miracles are ready to happen because Love wants to support Love.
We invite you to be part of this joyous, unconditional Love that has been flowing through us for half a century!!! Prepare yourself to be the miracle with us. It is so much more fun than living in hopelessness or fear.
