On Sunday, October 7, 2018 , the Lord called Donna home after a stubborn battle with cancer at the age of 57.
A Greater Sacramento native, she spent nearly her entire professional career at Kaiser Permanente on Morse Avenue working in various departments. Due to illness, she retired early in 1991 following the birth of her two [really cool] children. She loved staying involved in her kid’s school functions, church groups, concerts, birthday parties, and friends’ lives. Her sincere love for people burst from her spirit and was one of the most endearing qualities about her.
Donna is survived by the love of her life, husband of 30 years, the boy next door Jeff Wise, daughter Hillary (Josh), son Logan (Sarah), brothers and sisters Deb, Cathy, Donnie, Sissy, Jan, Joey, Jeanne, and June [say that ten times fast], mother Janis, in-laws Joyce and Joe, her first grandbaby on the way Cadence, grand puppies Molly, Sophia and Roo, tons of extended family and dear friends.
Aside from scripture, her favorite quote was, “Life is short, spend it with people who make you laugh!” An attestation to her dark, strange sense of humor, she wanted “I told you I was sick” engraved on her tombstone. After much negotiation, we settled on quoting that here. I’m sure she’s cracking up – hope it gives you a laugh as well.
Her celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 10th at 3pm at Gold Country Church in Auburn, CA, 11641 Blocker Dr. #280. Please wear something fun/colorful.
We started this GoFundMe to help cover the costs of Mom's celebration of life. Love to you all.
