I’m Shelly Smith, and my husband, Dave, and I are writing this on behalf of our dear friends, Donna Powell and Barbara Bruckner, who need your help. They live in Sarasota, FL and on September 28th, the destructive force of Hurricane Ian almost destroyed their manufactured home. Their lanai was ripped off and scattered in pieces in the backyard. The roof was peeled off, allowing water to enter the house. The floor under the wet carpeting is now buckling and disintegrating. A neighbor kindly helped put tarps over their home to help keep the rainwater out. But the rain has found a way in each time it rains.
This fundraiser is designed to help Donna and Barbara with whatever they need after FEMA. FEMA will not replace or pay for their lanai, carpeting, or floors. Hopefully, FEMA funds will help cover a new roof. Plus, they will need to rebuild the screened lanai or face the possibility of forclosure.
Donna is too devastated, embarrassed, proud and stressed to ask for help. So we (Dave and I) are asking for her. If you have the means to donate, the funds will go directly to Donna and Barbara and their three kitties. We know they will be very thankful for anything you may be able to offer.
And also, please help spread the word by sharing this on your social media platforms.
