Donna Mitchell Medical Expenses

UPDATE: thank you all for the outpouring of love, prayer, and encouragement. This has been a very stressful last few weeks. We unfortunately did not get the best news for my mom’s diagnosis. She has stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized to other organs, as well as fluid around her lungs and heart. She is undergoing surgery today to remove some of the fluid, but this is just the first step of her very long medical journey. My parents have applied for insurance, but in the meantime they have visited the ER four times and the bills are stacking up.

If you know my parents, you know that they would give a stranger the shirt off of their back if they thought it would serve them better; asking for help is not their area of expertise-but God grows us up in ways that we never expect and now they are asking.

For now, we are just treating her symptoms, but it’s our hope that with the money raised here, we can get her to a doctor that will create a treatment plan to aid in her recovery. No one is ever promised tomorrow, but our time is short and we need to act quickly. Thank you again for your continued prayer and know we absolutely feel all of that love

Original: My mom was unexpectedly admitted into Jersey Shore Saturday, due to chronic pain she had been having in her upper abdomen for about a month. While we are so glad that she decided to get checked out, my parents are small business owners and do not have health insurance. Some tests have been completed, but we don’t have many answers yet; more tests and a biopsy need to be done in order to truly pinpoint what is going on-the money raised here will hopefully alleviate some of that financial burden from my parents.

Our God is one of miracles, so no matter what your financial contribution, please pray that this situation draws us closer to our faith and strengthens our family. Specifically; that me and my brother are solid for my parents to lean on, like they’ve been for us our entire lives. For my mom, that the doctors are able to diagnose what’s going on and that she doesn’t suffer. And for my dad, that he finds peace in this incredibly difficult time of heartache and unknown circumstances.

For those of you that know Donna and Scott personally, please lean in and reach out, especially to my dad. Donna also loves a good drop by and a crowd, so don’t feel like you can’t visit her.
