Family & Friends,
Cancer was never part of the plan that we thought our family would face; cancer was most certainly not something we thought that our mom would have to battle. Cancer doesn’t discriminate and sadly, knows no bounds.
Our parents have spent their entire life helping others; following their calling of serving in ministry and making sacrifices that most people wouldn’t understand. Our mom is one of the most selfless individuals you will ever meet, and will always go without to make sure someone else has what they need.
Our mom has taught us what it means to persevere but also to be patient, to push forward even when you don’t want to- even when it seems impossible. And that, right now is what she is doing. Despite all the worries that cancer has brought to light, it has also caused obstacles that make this fight a bit more challenging. At this point, the treatment plan includes chemotherapy and the possibility of surgery as early as January 2022. With all the tests, trips to different appointments, prescriptions, copays and the other expenses that my parents both have and will incur, the financial burden that accompanies this disease, at times seems insurmountable, but that is where we are turning to our family and friends and asking for your help.
When our mom was diagnosed, she told us kids that she went into the year 2021, with a mindset that regardless of what this year was going to bring, she was going to choose to find joy in the journey; no matter what God had in store for her. That is exactly what she has continued to do even now, in the midst of it all, she has chosen to find joy. Our family is following her example and we are also choosing joy and trusting God’s plan.
Thank you for all your prayers, your generosity, and we want to encourage you to choose joy in the journey.
