Donna had hip replacement surgery on August 17. Now, 10 weeks later she is still not healed and is suffering from some major complications. She is in excruciating pain with a terrible infection, and has been hospitalized for the last week. She returned home and immediately went back to the ER and was admitted again. She is now awaiting her possible 3rd surgery.  When she is finally released, she will be on IV antibiotics for 6 weeks with a home health nurse coming daily to administer the medications.

Donna lost her medical insurance several years ago and is now working with a ministry to help with medical bills.  Being that she is self employed, she hasn’t been able to work for over 2 months with what looks to be at least 2 more to come.  

Just to put it into some perspective, the 6 weeks of antibiotics alone will cost approximately $18,000.  This is just a drop in the bucket when you think of the cost of 3 surgeries, 2 hosptial stays, in home nurse costs, etc
